Sugar leaves are small, protective leaves in which the buds will grow around to make cannabis flowers. These sugar leaves can produce trichomes, making the leaves look as though they have a light dusting of sugar over them.

Sugar leaves can be smoked but are less potent than the buds and can produce a harsh smoke. They are often used for concentrates but must be dried before using.
