Cheese Feminized Growing Information

In the late nineties in the United Kingdom, a standout phenotype emerged from a batch of Skunk #1 seeds. This unique plant was isolated and became known as Cheese.

Cheese is a distinctive cannabis strain, aptly named for its unique characteristics. Before this mutant variety appeared, its particular flavor profile was unheard of in the cannabis world. Cheese has developed a reputation for its unique flavor, aroma, and effects, setting it apart from other cannabis strains and establishing itself as a unique family within the cannabis community.

THC Content: 18 – 20%

Genetic Makeup: The strain is a rare female phenotype of Skunk #1, a hybrid of Afghani (indica), Acapulco Gold (sativa), and Columbian Gold (sativa). It first emerged between 1988 and 1989 and was swiftly cloned and shared. As a female phenotype, the original strain is only available as a clone. However, other breeders have replicated it in seed form by crossing a female Cheese with various indica strains.

Effects:

Although it is indica-dominant, this strain delivers a potent and swift impact. Users initially experience a surge of happiness and euphoria, which is soon followed by a strong, body-numbing high that boosts appetite. While some users report feeling more creative rather than lethargic, the sedating indica effects typically prevail, often leading to couch-lock. Common side effects include dry mouth, fits of giggles, and red eyes.

Flavor Profile:

Thanks to its Skunk lineage, Cheese has a distinct old-school skunk aroma. True to its name, it exudes a strong cheese scent, reminiscent of a cozy French cottage filled with rich, cheesy delights.

As a hybrid derived from Afghani and South American sativas, Cheese offers the best of both worlds. Expect relief from stress and a boost in happiness. The sativa genetics bring about euphoric thoughts, lifting your spirits and providing a fresh perspective on your day.

Growing Information:

When growing Cheese, be prepared for your grow room to smell like a cheese factory, with a sharp and sour aroma permeating the air. Odor control with a carbon filter is essential.

Both novice and experienced growers will find this strain easy to cultivate due to its hardiness and pest resistance. Cheese thrives particularly well in hydroponic systems, which will challenge your exhaust air filtration to its limits.

Indoors, Cheese grows to a medium height, but when grown outdoors in a large pot with high-quality organic soil, it can become quite tall.

The indoor flowering time for Cheese is about 8 weeks, while outdoor plants should be ready for harvest by mid-October.

Ensure you provide ample support for the flowers, such as netting or stakes, as their weight can cause branches to bend. This applies to both indoor and outdoor grows.

Cheese is a medium-yielding strain with a THC content ranging from 18-20%.

Feeding

  • All Cannabis strains, require a full spectrum nutrient complete with the macro nutrients such as Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium and the secondary nutrients and micronutrients like, calcium, sulphur, hydrogen, magnesium, manganese, carbon, iron, zinc etc.
  • For coco/perlite grows, we recommend Nutrifield Coco A&B for use throughout the entire grow, with Nutrifield Organic BUD BURST at the beginning of the flowering phase right through to harvest.  As bud burst is organic, this ensures a nice smooth, super clean tasting smoke that you will love!
  • For soil based growing (not recommended), just make sure you use a high quality soil rich in organic matter such as compost and manure.   Note that manure if high in nitrogen which you’ll want to reduce during the flowering stage.
  • During the flowering stage, change the ratio so you are using up to three times more phosphorus than nitrogen and potassium. Also continue to add in secondary nutrients such as iron, copper, and manganese.  The best way to do this is simply to use orgnanic Bud Burst during flowering all the way as this will ensure a smooth finish with no chemical taste.   Amazing stuff!
  • For organic grows, we recommend Aptus Baseboost organic nutrient   with coco/perlite 70/30 ratio.   This stuff is highly concentrated so a little goes a long way making it great value.     Simply add the pellets to the coco as per the instructions and it will completely transform any inert growing medium into a powerful full spectrum grow media..

Growing Tips

  • Your plants will need consistent air flow and good ventilation, whether you are choosing the perfect spot for an outdoor grow, or are growing in an indoor grow room. They need air that is rich in oxygen, to help prevent respiration, deter any pests, and allow your plant to grow healthy and strong. Use fans to help circulate air, or if you can afford it, exhaust systems are an excellent choice.

Why buy ‘Feminized’ Seeds

  • Marijuana plants are either male or female.   The male flower produces sacs or pollen designed to fertilize the female flower which produces white pistols designed to absorb the pollen.   If no male plants are present in the growing area, than the female plant will just grow larger and larger flowers in search of pollen.   These flowers are the cannabis buds that we all know and love.   The male plants hold only minuscule amount of THC, while the female flowers are oozing with THC crystals (the good stuff).   For this reason, marijuana growers are seeking only female plants in the grow room (unless they want alot of seedy buds).Feminsed seeds have been cultivated in a precise way so that the seed is genetically more likely to produce a female plant.   Autoflower seeds automatically transition from the vegetative phase to the flowering stage without you needing to adjust their light exposure.   Fore more detailed growing information, see our in depth grow guide.
