Simultaneously, the Legalise Cannabis Party (LCP) presented the Regulation of Personal Adult Use of Cannabis Bill 2023 in three Australian states: Victoria, Western Australia (WA), and New South Wales (NSW) on June 20, 2023. Founded in 1993 as the Help End Marijuana Prohibition (HEMP) Party, and later renamed to LCP in 2021, the party aims to push for cannabis legalization in Australia through a planned three-stage process, with this bill being the first step.
